New Hall School is a well established Catholic independent boarding and day school for girls, which has recently launched its co-educational preparatory school.
While the school is a Roman Catholic community, it embraces girls of varied religious beliefs. New Hall also welcomes girls with a wide variety of academic abilities, believing that all will achieve their best and will put to good use their different talents. Academic achievement is one of New Hall's greatest priorities and the school's 'A' level results are consistently high.
Hew Hall School responds quickly and effectively to new demands created by parents and by curriculum changes. Facilities currently include six science laboratories, an art and design floor, a specialist design and technology facility, a large library which is open seven days a week, and a recently completed development with superb purpose-built facilities for Drama, Music, Dance, Home Economics, Business Studies, Economics and English. Computers are located throughout the school as well as in the information technology laboratories. PE facilities include a gym, sports hall, ten hard tennis courts for tennis and netball, three pitches used for hockey and athletics, a swimming pool and excellent cross-country courses within the school's beautiful grounds.
New Hall School prides itself in being able to offer a very full educational experience to its girls. A balanced programme of academic and technological subjects in line with the National Curriculum is offered which is especially geared towards individuals strengths and weaknesses.
Activities organised outside the formal curriculum abound at New Hall School. Language clubs, natural history, scientific and technological interest groups meet in out-of-class hours, as do societies of a classical, historical, geographical and political nature. Extra-curricular activities also extend beyond the school grounds for the more adventurous courses and expeditions. In additions to this, staff arrange a variety of entertainment activities, including visits to the theatre and ice skating. Other boys', girls' and co-educational schools provide venues for debating, competitions and a range of social events from mixed choirs to discos.
Above all, New Hall is a caring community where spiritual values underpin all that is offered. Strong pastoral care, high academic standards and superb facilities combine to ensure the provision of a broad-based and Christian education for life.
